We would like to acknowledge the devastation wreaked by the Australian Bushfires on individuals, families, communities, properties and wildlife, and to extend our deepest sympathies. We would also like to acknowledge the contributions made by so many people such as first responders, health professionals, veterinarians, fundraisers, volunteers, and also including those who have and continue to voice concerns about climate change.

We encourage all those affected to draw strength from your local community and to reach out to each other to share support. Your connection with your family, friends, neighbours and community members is an important first step on the path to healing. In the weeks and months ahead many will benefit from more professional support and assistance in managing trauma and we encourage you to seek out services and supports that are right for you.

EMDR is a recognised evidence-based therapy recommended by the World Health Organisation and many other peak bodies as a first line treatment for trauma.
